Advanced Cash Flow Forecasting

Statistical techniques provide extremely helpful tools for forecasting future cash flows. This course uses practical examples to show how various statistical methods can be used to forecast components of the cash budget. The advantages and disadvantages of each technique are discussed along with how to interpret results. The majority of the seminar covers the practical application of statistical methods using Excel. This course aims to develop practical, in-depth skills through hands-on applications of statistical forecasting techniques. Creating Requests for Proposals (RFPs) are an essential part of finding the best solutions and products to meet an organization’s specific needs.  Since they are only conducted on an as-needed basis, there is often confusion or a lack of understanding all of the necessary elements for the most effective RFP. Based on the AFP Treasury Advisory Group whitepaper, this course provides finance professionals a guide on when and how to conduct RFPs, strategies to effectively manage the RFPs process, and key points in vendor selection and contract negotiation. This course will also review what to do when the RFP is over and implementation must begin.

Although the vast majority of commercial borrowers have enjoyed low and stable interest rates over recent years, this phase of the economic cycle seems to be coming to a close. In March 2017, the Federal Reserve raised its benchmark interest rate by a quarter-point. Organizations can expect rate to increase a total of three times this year and likely next year as well.  With proven risk management tools at the disposal of treasury and finance managers, there’s little justification for a company to be unprepared. This seminar teaches finance professionals the tools available for managing interest rate risks and how to manage strategy in order to achieve a variety of interest rate objectives.
